PRICING, TIMING & PROCESS

How much does a patio, turf or pool cost?

Every yard is different, so here are honest numbers from typical projects:

  • Paver patios: a typical 600–800 sq ft patio runs about $4,800–$6,200.

  • Artificial turf: a typical 900–1,200 sq ft install with our premium Elite 110 turf runs about $6,000–$7,800.

  • Custom pools: start at $35,995. That base package includes design plans, excavation, a shotcrete shell, pool equipment with basic automation, a pool light, travertine coping, waterline tile, a mini pebble finish and a Baja shelf. City permit fees vary and are quoted separately. Most finished pools with upgrades land between $52,000 and $72,000.

Delivery, demolition and extra base material are quoted separately, so every cost is spelled out in your written proposal. Our minimum project size is $2,695, prices include sales tax, and financing is available. The fastest way to get an exact number is a free on-site consultation.

How long does a project take?

Paver patios and turf installs usually take 2–3 days on site. Larger hardscape projects with BBQ islands or pergolas take 1–2 weeks. Pools typically take 6–8 weeks from permit approval to swim-ready, depending on city inspections and weather. We give you a schedule up front and keep you updated at each stage.

Can you do the pool and the backyard together?

Yes. Because we're licensed for both pools and hardscaping, we can build your pool and your entire backyard (pavers, turf, outdoor kitchen, lighting and more) as one coordinated project. You get one point of contact and one schedule, with no juggling separate contractors.

Can pavers go over my existing concrete patio?

Sometimes. If the slab is solid, level and drains properly, pavers can often be installed over it. Cracked or sinking concrete usually needs to come out first. We check this during the free on-site consultation.

Do you handle HOA approval and permits?

Yes. For pools, we draw the plans, handle the permit process and coordinate city inspections for you. Permit fees vary by city and are quoted separately. For HOA approval, we provide the drawings and material specs your HOA needs, so your submission is quick and complete.

What warranty do you offer?

Pools come with a lifetime structural warranty on the pool shell, a limited lifetime warranty on in-floor cleaning systems, a 3-year manufacturer warranty on equipment, and a 2-year labor and materials warranty. Hardscape and turf installs come with a 2-year labor warranty, and turf also carries a manufacturer warranty of 10 to 15+ years depending on the product. Because we're ROC-licensed, you're also protected by the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, something unlicensed installers can't offer.

Do you offer financing?

Yes, financing is available. Ask about it when you request your free consultation.

How do I get a quote?

Fill out our contact form or send us a text, and we'll set up a free on-site consultation. We'll walk your yard, talk through your ideas and budget, and send you a detailed written proposal.

ABOUT US & MATERIALS

What areas do you serve?

We serve the East Valley and North Scottsdale up to Paradise Valley, including Paradise Valley, Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Queen Creek and San Tan Valley.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Moonstone Pools & Hardscapes is licensed, bonded and insured. We hold two Arizona Registrar of Contractors licenses: B-05 #366045 (General Swimming Pool Contractor) and CR-21 #365963 (Hardscaping, Landscaping & Irrigation). You can verify both on the Arizona ROC website. Hiring a licensed contractor protects you if anything goes wrong; hiring an unlicensed one doesn't.

What hardscape services do you offer?

Paver patios and walkways, travertine, artificial turf, pergolas, outdoor kitchens and BBQ islands, fire pits, low-voltage landscape lighting and irrigation. We can design and build one feature or your entire backyard.

Pavers or travertine: which is better in Arizona?

Both are great choices. It comes down to your priorities:

  • Travertine stays noticeably cooler underfoot in the Arizona sun and has a natural stone look that pairs beautifully with pools. It does need periodic sealing to keep it looking its best.

  • Pavers cost less, come in a wide range of colors and styles, and are easy to repair, since a damaged paver can be swapped out individually.

For pool decks, many homeowners choose travertine for comfort on bare feet. For patios and driveways, pavers are often the best value. We'll show you samples of both at your free consultation.

What's the coolest pool deck material for Arizona heat?

Light-colored travertine is one of the coolest options for bare feet, with light-colored pavers a close second. Dark pavers, dark stone and stamped concrete absorb more heat and get noticeably hotter in direct summer sun.

Is artificial turf a good idea in Arizona?

For many homeowners, yes. Turf stays green year-round without watering or mowing, which saves water and maintenance. It does get hot in direct afternoon sun, so shade from a pergola or trees, a lighter turf color and cooling infill all help in high-use areas.

How do I keep pavers looking new?

Sweep regularly, rinse off dirt and stains, pull any weeds early, and top up the joint sand when it gets low. Keeping the joints full is what holds the pavers tight and keeps weeds and ants out.
